About SELVA RACKS

Welcome to SELVA RACKS. We are a small workshop dedicated to designing and manufacturing aesthetic, durable, and sustainable bicycle racks for interiors, right here in North America.

Our first product is a testament to this vision: a beautiful, minimalist rack featuring two elegant wooden components that securely hold your bicycle by the frame, transforming your bike into a piece of art on your wall. Each rack is crafted using certified sustainable wood and Santo Pren recycled plastic, with screws sourced from local suppliers.

Why North America?

We believe in the strength of regional cooperation and the necessity of a regional approach to manufacturing. By designing and producing our racks locally, we source our wood from North American forests and utilize components and materials from regional suppliers. This commitment goes beyond geography; it significantly lowers our carbon footprint, fosters robust regional business partnerships, reduces reliance on distant imports, and ensures we maintain tight control over the high quality of every product that leaves our workshop.

Our Vision: Reforestation and the Spirit of the Toucan

we are driven by more than just creating exceptional products; we are committed to a vital mission: the reforestation of the precious forests and jungles that grace our continent. Every SELVA RACK sold is a tree planted in the Jungles and Forests.

These critical ecosystems, including those here in North America, are under severe threat from deforestation, devastating wildfires, and concerning levels of illegal logging, particularly in regions like Mexico. These threats not only diminish vital carbon sinks but also endanger the incredible diversity of wildlife that calls these places home.

That’s why our use of certified sustainable wood is non-negotiable. Certification ensures our wood is sourced responsibly, helping to combat illegal cutting and promote healthy forest management. Our vision is to actively contribute to healing these landscapes, participating in reforestation efforts that help restore biodiversity and ecological balance.

The vibrant Toucan embodies the fighting spirit behind our mission. These magnificent birds, guardians of the rainforests facing threats in their own habitats, symbolize resilience, boldness, connection to nature, and a striking presence. They remind us daily of the beauty and life we are striving to protect through our work.

Join us in this crucial effort. Follow SELVA RACKS, follow the Toucan!

Cycling in North America: A Growing Movement

We dream of a future where seamless cycling routes connect communities and breathtaking landscapes across this entire continent. North America already has a rich and rapidly expanding cycling culture, fueled by passion, necessity, and a growing investment in infrastructure. The data highlights this incredible momentum:

Across Canada, cities like Montreal and Vancouver lead the way with extensive high-convenience cycling infrastructure, and cycling ranks as the country’s second most popular sport. Quebec is home to North America’s longest cycling circuit, the 5,300 km Route Verte. (Sources: User Research Data, Copenhagenize index 2019)

In the USA, cycling is a significant activity in major urban centers like New York City, where millions ride regularly. The market saw dramatic growth following the COVID-19 pandemic, with household spending surging over 600%. Cities like Davis, California, consistently demonstrate high rates of bike commuting, representing the strong cycling cultures found in many communities. Mexico is also seeing rapid growth in cycling infrastructure, with Mexico City doubling its network length in recent years and recording a high volume of daily bicycle trips. Cities like Zapopan quickly adapted by adding new lanes, reflecting increasing interest. A significant portion of adults across Mexico know how to ride and own a bicycle, showing vast potential. Overall North America:

  • Montreal (#18) and Vancouver (#19) were the only North American cities to break into the Global Top 20 of the Copenhagenize Index in 2019, highlighting a growing presence on the international stage (Source: Copenhagenize index 2019).

This vibrant cycling landscape across North America inspires us to create products that support cyclists and contribute to a sustainable future for the places we ride.
